The younger brother of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Emma Kanu has revealed that the family would release a cheque of one million naira to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome for his drugs and feeding.

Prince Emma, said the development followed the inability of the federal government to continue taking care of his elder brother, Nnamdi Kanu.

According to him, the DSS told him yesterday that there was no money for his regular meals and drugs so to that effect, the family would be required to prepare a cheque of one million naira to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding by Ozekhome.

The development follows fresh report by Kanu’s Special Counsel Aloy Ejimakor, who disclosed that the IPOB leader has not been given his drugs for the past nine days and he has not eaten on Thursday when he visited him because the DSS said there was no money.

iBrandtv reports that Ejimakor, in a tweet on Thursday, said his client made the allegation during his routine visit to the IPOB leader in the DSS custody in Abuja.

Kanu’s lawyer stressed that the IPOB leader did not have any meal on Thursday as the operatives of the secret agency said that there was no money to buy food for him. The lawyer who said he visited Kanu in the company of Prince Emma Kanu and Barrister Nnaemeka Ejiofor, noted that Kanu instructed him to make his ordeal in the DSS custody public. However, reacting to that development, Kanu’s younger brother said , “This is a confirmed story.

“Yesterday (Thursday), when we visited him, he has not had any food. “I asked them (DSS) why, they said that there is no money for his regular meal and that they don’t have any money. “So, we have also explained everything to the SAN, Mike Ozekhome. “By today, SAN will prepare a cheque of N1m to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding. “I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat since the federal government can’t take care of him.”
