The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) stormed the bank and everything changed.

Empty ATMs

The naira notes Nigerians are clamouring for were sacked in the vault of the bank, waiting for God knows what.

Unfortunately, the operations manager of the commercial bank had to pay the price for the bank’s action.

The operatives of the EFCC quickly arrested the official in Abuja on on February 6, 2023 for hoarding new Naira notes.

Before he was whisked away for further questioning, the operatives ordered the loading of all the ATMs and the payment of the stipulated amount across the counter.

It was a huge relief for the distraught customers who had spent hours on queues without getting the new notes.

This discovery indicates a sabotage of the government’s monetary policy by some banks.

The EFCC has assured the citizens of the continuation of their ongoing surveillance and visits to banks across the country to access their vaults.

Hopefully, the struggle to access the new Naira notes will end soon.
