The chase was over, after weeks on the run, Levi Ubodoeze’s attempt to escape came to an abrupt end on March 6 when NDLEA operatives closed in on him at his residence in Isolo, Lagos.
The automobile spare parts dealer had been the subject of an intense manhunt following the seizure of two kilograms of cocaine hidden in vehicle propellers, destined for Angola.
However, on February 21, NDLEA operatives intercepted the consignment at a logistics company in Lagos.
Shortly after, Angolan authorities apprehended the intended recipient, which, in turn, led investigators to uncover Ubodoeze’s identity.
Final Escape Attempt Fails
Subsequently, on March 6, NDLEA officers tracked him to his home in Isolo, Lagos.
As he attempted to flee in a KIA SUV, they swiftly moved in and captured him.
Furthermore, during a search of his vehicle, they discovered 75.5kg of phenacetin, a cocaine-cutting agent, deceptively packaged as semolina.
Eventually, under intense interrogation, he admitted to dealing in drugs.

Following this, they arrested the recipient, Adedamola Taylor, and subsequently detained the shop manager, Musurat Lawal.
Additionally, officers confiscated 128kg of Ghanaian Loud cannabis from a truck in Ojo and, in a separate operation, recovered 301,600 tramadol pills in Mushin.
Nationwide Crackdown Intensifies
Moreover, NDLEA officers intensified their enforcement across Kano, Abia, Benue, Osun, and Edo, arresting multiple suspects and seizing thousands of opioid pills, codeine bottles, and cannabis.
In Edo, they also destroyed over 9,500kg of skunk on a large cannabis farm.
