Amatu stated that the audit of the NDDC was a welcome development that Niger Deltans had waited for too long.

He described the allegation of fraud levelled against the IMC, as well as the attempted probe by the Senate as distractions to stall President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts to cleanse the commission.

“Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei is not an APC or PDP member. He is a man with good records and reputation. These pull-him-down efforts are moves by politicians to stall the forensic audit.

“We Niger Delta youths are saying that this forensic audit must be completed, the hidden truth about the NDDC for these donkey’s years must be unravelled.

“Again, it’s an indisputable fact that Sen. Godswill Akpabio was one of the best governors Niger Delta has ever produced, whose development efforts are still standing in his state. We believe he is doing his best to reposition the commission.

“It pained us that some of our fellow Ijaw youths are writing whatever they listed against Pondei and Akpabio, who are working had to bring sanity to NDDC. We urge them to turn a new leaf.

“We thank Mr President for extending the tenure of the IMC and also urged him to ignore all antics of detractors as Niger Deltans are patiently waiting for the outcome of the forensic audit,” he said.
