The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reinforced its commitment to maintaining order in the skies, backing Air Peace’s decision to blacklist three passengers accused of disruptive behaviour on a recent London-Lagos flight.
A routine London-Lagos flight on February 12, 2025, took a chaotic turn when Adewale Adedigba (52), Magnis Ashibuogwu (50), and Iwunze Benjamin (30) disrupted the journey with loud outbursts.
Their shouting alarmed passengers and crew, and they ignored instructions while forcing their way from economy to business class.
Despite the crew’s repeated warnings, they refused to comply, escalating tensions on board.
Swift Action Upon Landing
As soon as the flight landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, airport security swiftly arrested them, responding to the crew’s report.
Court Proceedings Begin
Later, on February 15, the Magistrate Court of Lagos State, Ikeja Magisterial District, began hearing the case.
Prosecutor SP Oladipupo Taiwo urged the court to enforce aviation laws strictly, emphasising that such behaviour threatens air travel safety.

Since their actions violated Section 168(1)(d) of the Lagos State Criminal Laws (2015) and Section 4(1)(a)(b) of the FAAN Bye-Law (2005), they now face fines or imprisonment.
NCAA Backs Air Peace’s Blacklisting Decision
Meanwhile, the magistrate scheduled the next hearing for March 3, 2025, allowing both sides to prepare their arguments.
In response, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) fully backed Air Peace, applauding the airline for blacklisting the passengers.
We will not tolerate passengers who jeopardise flight security,” declared NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Mike Achimugu.
This case serves as a clear warning that disruptive passengers will face serious consequences.
