Singer-comedian Lawal Michael, aka Nasboi, has kicked off a bold 36-day campaign, pledging to kneel in each of Nigeria’s 36 states to persuade Afrobeats superstar Davido to feature on his next track.
Launching in Osun State, which he shares with Davido, Nasboi began his journey with a heartfelt Instagram post.
He described his mission to earn a coveted verse from the man he reverently calls “001″.
On day two, he continued his appeal in Kano State.
He urges his fans to tag Davido every time they see his kneeling challenge.
“Back in 2019, I mimicked Davido to gain attention for my music, but those skits turned me into a comedian—God’s plan,” Nasboi wrote.
“Now I return to plead with 001: bless me with a verse. I’ll kneel across 36 states for 36 days. Pray this dream comes true.”
Nasboi first rose to prominence with his “Low Budget OBO” skits, impersonating Davido in viral clips that led to breakout acting roles as characters like Akpan and Ikechukwu.
Undeterred by his success in comedy, he’s continued to pursue his musical ambitions.
He released songs such as “Small Money,” “Short Skirt,” and the Wande Coal–assisted hit “Umbrella.”
