Nigeria singer Naira Marley has cancelled the EndSARS protest scheduled to hold today so as to reach out to the federal government to put a stop to the injustice and maltreatment of citizens in the country by SARS officials.

Announcing on his social media page, the singer disclosed that there would be a peaceful protest and warned his fans not to commit any crime at the scene whatsoever, but the protest didn’t take place due to the intervention of the Nigerian police force who motioned for the artiste to exercise some patience as the complains on the issues of unprofessional conducts by some SARS officials is being addressed.

@officialnairam1 The Inspector General of Police wishes to inform Nigerian youths that their voices and complaints on the issues of unprofessional conducts by some SARS operatives have been heared very loudly and clearly.

Responding to this, Naira Marley stated that the scheduled protest would no longer hold adding that if there are no changes within a week, there would be a mass protest.

He wrote: “We won’t be protesting anymore because there’s a lot of changes being made right now. As a Marlian we will give them a week to see the changes and if there’s no changes we will start a mass protest. #togetherwecan

Unfortunately, Naira Marley’s announcement has been received with a lot of disappointment from youths hoping to take to the streets and register their reservations against activities of SARS operatives.
