MTN users have been appeased by the NCC, especially users who had their lines barred over NIN linkage issues.
Last weekend, many MTN customers woke up to meet their SIM cards inactive.
However, they came to the realization that their lines have been barred as a result of NIN linkage failure.
As a result, some call and service based businesses were on hold, other activities were halted amongst many other difficulties users experienced during the SIM blockage.
This caused a huge influx of people seeking immediate solution into MTN offices nationwide.
In reaction to this, NCC ordered the immediate reactivation of lines affected by NIN-SIM verification issues as it emphasized customer as KING.
“The consumer is our priority, therefore, considering the challenges the blockages have caused, the commission has directed all operators to reactivate all lines that were disconnected over the weekend in view of the short time available for consumers to undertake the verification of their NINs with their SIMs.

“Reactivated consumers are to note that this is for a limited period to allow them to properly link their NIN to their SIM.
“Members of the public who are yet to verify their SIMs are encouraged to do so as soon as possible to maintain access to their lines.”
