Singer Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has opened up about going solo after the split from his twin brother Paul Okoye, Rudeboy.
He said he feels a special kind of joy now that he is no longer part of the P-Square duo.
Speaking in a recent radio interview, Mr P explained that both he and his brother tried to make the group work again after their reunion in 2021, but it didn’t last.
“There’s a joy that comes with going solo. Please respect our decisions. We’ve tried it; it’s not working,” he said.
He added that choosing peace and happiness was more important than staying under pressure. This comes months after
Rudeboy confirmed that P-Square had disbanded once again.
Now, both artistes are focused on their solo music careers. Peter Okoye released his debut solo album The Prodigal in 2021 and has continued to grow as a solo performer.
P-Square, once known as one of Africa’s top music groups, first split in 2016 before reuniting briefly five years later.
