Moniepoint Expands Access To Banking With 5 Million AfriGO Cards

For millions of Nigerians, accessing seamless and secure financial services remains a challenge.

Afrigopay Financial Services Limited (AFSL) is a subsidiary of NIBSS. It created AfriGO, Nigeria’s national domestic card scheme, to revolutionise digital payments.

Moreover, this contactless payment solution empowers users to complete transactions effortlessly by tapping or hovering their card or NFC-enabled device over a payment terminal or phone.

Beyond convenience, AfriGO actively strengthens local businesses by reducing reliance on foreign exchange (FX) for transactions and ensuring data sovereignty.

Enhancing Efficiency For Merchants And Agents

Highlighting the impact, CEO of AFSL, Ebehijie Momoh, stated: “This partnership will drive transaction efficiency, facilitate instant settlements, and improve cash flow for merchants and agents.

“With Moniepoint’s extensive network, we can rapidly expand financial access, delivering essential banking services such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers”.
