Mojisola Meranda Resigns As Lagos Speaker, Re-elected Deputy Speaker

Mojisola Meranda has chosen the path of peace amidst the ongoing political war between her and Obasa.

She resigned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly seven weeks after being elected into office.

Constituency 1 announced her resignation earlier today March 3 as lawmakers re-elected her as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.

In addition, the lawmakers commended her leadership style and for bringing peace to the Lagos State House of Assembly.

They commended her strength and humility for obeying the rules and regulations of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meranda emerged speaker of the House following the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa, who was the immediate past Speaker of the house.
