
Ruben Loftus-Cheek required emergency surgery before AC Milan’s clash with Napoli, due to acute appendicitis.

Per Sky Italia, Loftus-Cheek suffered a bout of acute appendicitis before Milan’s clash with Napoli and was rushed to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
In his absence, Milan lost 2-1.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder has struggled somewhat for playing time this season and has been limited to just 14 Serie A appearances due to injury issues.
He missed 12 games with muscular injuries, before making his return last week against Como. Now, he faces another month out.
Loftus-Cheek has been with Milan since 2023 and has a contract until 2027.
In total, he has played 62 times for Milan, scoring 10 goals and laying on three assists.

Milan play Inter in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final in midweek.
Ruben is set to spend two days in hospital before being discharged, and will then be out for the next four weeks or so.
