Lionel Messi, has confirmed he has no interest in pursuing a coaching career after he retires from professional football.
In an interview with Fabrizio Romano for ‘433,’ the football legend opened up about his future plans, saying, “I wouldn’t like to be a coach, but I’m still not sure what I would like to do in the future.”
Messi also reflected on his approach to life after football, revealing a stronger focus on living in the moment.
“I value much more than before everything I do on a day-to-day basis,” he shared. “I just think about playing, training, and having fun.”
While undecided about representing Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, Messi is keeping the option open.
“The truth is, I don’t know. I’ve been asked several times, especially in Argentina,” he said.
For now, he’s focused on completing the season and preparing for a full pre-season, which he missed last year due to extensive travel.
“From there, I want to see what happens, to realise how I feel,” he added.
Reflecting on Inter Miami’s progress this season, Messi acknowledged the team’s accomplishments while recognising areas for improvement.
“We celebrated the achievement because it was difficult and important to win the regular season,” he said. “But we made some silly mistakes that can cost us in the playoffs.”
Messi remains optimistic about Inter Miami’s ambitions, praising the club’s “no limits” philosophy.
“Everything they’ve done so far shows that. We have to keep growing to become great within the MLS and, hopefully, globally,” he concluded.
