In addition, it was announced that the “Lollipop” rapper , will be the first inductee into the New Orleans Walk of Fame on February 6,2025, with the date officially recognised as Lil Wayne Day in honour of his career achievements and contributions to culture and the community.

Lil Wayne received his accolades during the 2024 Lil WeezyAna Fest, which featured a reunion of the Hot Boys and a special appearance by LSU star basketball player Flau’jae Johnson, who is also a rapper.

After accepting the awards, Lil Wayne said, “I worked so hard to get that position,” referring to the Super Bowl halftime show slot.”

“And it was ripped from me. But this here, they can’t take away from me,” an emotional Weezy told the audience, who responded with rousing applause.
