Swiss star Alisha Lehmann has been celebrating a first trophy in Juventus colours after victory over Palmeiras in the Women’s Cup during pre-season.
Lehmann swapped WSL side Aston Villa for Juventus Women during the summer and has already tasted success with her new club.
The Turin giants beat Brazilian side Palmeiras 1-0 in the Women’s Cup final in the United States, thanks to a goal from Cristiana Girelli, to wrap up their pre-season tour in style.
Juventus will be hoping for more trophies in the coming season as they begin life under new manager Massimiliano Canzi.
Lehmann is one of several new signings by Juventus, joining Emma Kullberg and Hanna Bennison in making the switch to the Serie A side.
However, the club have enjoyed themselves in pre-season, beating Swiss side Servette FC 6-1 and then going on to seal wins over Colo Colo and Palmeiras in the Women’s Cup.
Also, Juventus are the first Italian team to lift the Women’s Cup, an annual invitational tournament hosted by NWSL side Racing Louisville.
Previous winners of the trophy include NJ/NY Gotham, Atletico Madrid and OL Reign.
