Manchester City’s performance against Inter in midweek was “like watching paint dry”, according to television presenter Laura Woods.
Despite scoring 11 goals across their first four games in a strong start to their Premier League title defence, the English champions were kept quiet on home soil as they played out a 0-0 draw with Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday – a performance that didn’t impress Laura Woods.
Just days after the European affair, Pep Guardiola’s team have a headline showdown against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday and will hope to put in a more clinical display this time around.
Gunners fan Woods, though, hopes Arsenal are raring to go and can improve on the goalless draw they picked up on their last visit.
Abilities
She told BetMGM: “Manchester City are still miles ahead of Arsenal in terms of development and experience – and the Etihad is an absolute fortress.
“It’s also very early on so if Mikel Arteta has plans to do something similar [to last season’s game] – especially after watching Inter in the Champions League grind out an, albeit very boring, draw – I don’t think it’s the end of the world.
“Taking a point away is better than most teams can manage, especially without Martin Odegaard.
“I did feel at times like I was watching paint dry with City on Wednesday night.
“In the interest of excitement, and in trusting Arsenal’s back four, I would also love the Gunners to go for it.
“Arsenal have the ability to go toe-to-toe with them and a win at the Etihad would certainly be a statement.”
