The Albiceleste, with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi in their ranks, will be looking to defend their continental crown on U.S. soil this summer.

Their intention is to call upon the services of World Cup winner Fernandez for that competition.

Fernandez is, however, carrying an inguinal hernia problem that will require him to undergo an operation.

No decision has been made as yet regarding a date for surgery, but the Argentina camp are pushing for that procedure to take place as soon as possible.

Argentina news outlet Ole points out that if the 23-year-old midfielder were to go under the knife imminently, then he would be fully recovered in time for the Copa America.

That competition is due to get underway on June 20 – with the world champions opening things up against Canada.

A major sticking point when it comes to surgery for Fernandez is that he would miss the remainder of the season at Chelsea if he were to seek hernia treatment at this stage.

The Blues are still pushing for European qualification, with a battle of wills now on the cards as a club versus country debate breaks out in west London.

According to The Mirror, Ten Hag is willing to leave United without a vote of confidence from the INEOS head, citing an increasingly unclear future and a below-par campaign by United’s standards.

The Dutchman feels he and Ratcliffe are on the same page.

However, the 71-year-old has yet to publicly support Ten Hag since his confirmation as co-owner when his 27.7% ownership was validated by the Premier League in February.

Ten Hag still has one year left on his present deal, but he is willing to go without guarantees of a long-term future with the club.

Under the previous administration, Ten Hag had complete control over recruitment, but his future position may be limited by CEO Omar Berrada, technical director Jason Wilcox and the anticipated entrance of Dan Ashworth to the scene from Newcastle.

It has been reported that Ten Hag could make a return to his former club Ajax, as they have shown an interest in signing the 54-year-old manager who led them to success before he was snatched away by United.

They have struggled all season long and will part ways with John Van’ t Schip at the end of the season.

He stated that the group’s plan is to set up a radio service in KANGARWA and broadcast in Hausa, Arabic, and Kanuri.

Makama, in his post, raised concerns about the implications of the plan by the ISWAP terrorist group.

To him, the move is a strong signal to authorities in the sub-region.

This means that the insurgency has continued to be dynamic in adopting various means of propaganda.

Intense Propaganda

“The recruitment pace of the insurgency has still not been effectively halted.

Also, online media propaganda by the terror group has continued to play a key role in ensuring that the terrorist groups remain visible.

“This is effectively drawn by intense propaganda move.

This is done to draw significant attention to the organization’s sustained presence and reach.

The attendant effect, continues to imply recycling of fighters as the backbone of ISIS recruitment campaign, support to affiliated groups and directives for full-fledged attacks.

May 1: NLC Lists Demands Ahead Of Workers’ Day, Eyes New Minimum Wage

May 1 is the day set aside to celebrate workers in Nigeria. As a matter of fact, that day has been christened “Workers’ Day”.

But unfortunately, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), says this year’s workers’ Day is perfect time to make their demands known to the government.

May 1: NLC Lists Demands Ahead of Workers’ Day, Eyes New Minimum Wage

As we speak, the NLC has set forth a list of seven critical demands before the Federal Government.

It highlights the urgent need for a new minimum wage among other significant changes.

Advertisements

The announcement comes at a time of heightened anticipation, spiced with expectations that President Bola Tinubu may announce the proposed new wage standards during the celebrations.

NCL’s Demand

Key among the NLC’s demands is the establishment of state and local government police forces.

Advertisements

This aims at addressing the escalating insecurity challenges across the nation.

Furthermore, the NLC insists that the new minimum wage, once ratified, must be uniformly implemented across all states, local governments, and the organised private sector.

This unified approach is deemed essential to ensure fairness and alleviate economic disparities across different regions and sectors.

This year’s Workers’ Day is particularly significant, as it follows a tentative agreement by organised labour to set the new minimum wage at 615,000 Naira per month.

This figure was determined prior to the recent increases in electricity tariffs by the Federal Government, which has added to the cost-of-living pressures faced by Nigerian workers.

Economic Realities

A member of the Trade Union Congress’s National Executive Council who asked not to be named spoke with journalists.

According to the source, the wage figure was agreed after careful consideration of the current economic realities and the impact of governmental policy changes on the workforce.

The source said: “We are going to have another round of serious conversations with the government.

“Mind you, the tariff increase is also very good for us, because they (the government) did it when the new minimum wage process had not been concluded.

“So, it is going to be a good ground for us to ask for more money”.
