England drew 1-1 with Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, thanks to a late penalty from Harry Kane.

Following their defeat against Hungary over the weekend, England now has one point from their first two Nations League games.

After losing to Hungary for the first time in 60 years in their League A, Group Three opener on Saturday, England fielded an experienced squad in a noisy Allianz Arena, but were second best for much of the match.

Hofmann of Borussia Monchengladbach had the ball in the England net early on as Germany dominated, but his celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.

It was a frustrating end to the game for Germany who have drawn both their opening matches in the group. England, who face group leaders Italy at the weekend, are bottom.

Germany were far sharper for most of the evening and thought they had gone ahead midway through the first half when Hofmann galloped clear and beat Pickford, but a VAR check confirmed that the offside decision against him was correct.
