Rescue team on Friday, March 20, recovered one more body, from the rubble of the explosion site at Ado Soba, in Abule-Ado, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State which occurred last Sunday.
Earlier, the team had recovered a total of 21 bodies, including males and females bringing the total number of deaths recorded so far to 22, with the latest recovery.
Recall that aftermath of the sad occurrence, a number of people were declared missing in the yet to be determined real cause of the blast which shook the state in the early hours of the fateful day with unprecedented level of devastation.

The state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while conducting an on -the -spot assessment of the situation on Monday, announced the setting up of a N2 billion Relief Fund for the victims. He also announced N250 million donation by the Lagos State Government as capital base for the take off of the fund.
The Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the latest recovered casualty, which had been taken to the mortuary by the officials of Lagos State Ambulance Service, LASAMBUS.
According to Oke-Osanyintolu, “Situation report regarding the explosion at aforementioned location which occurred on Sunday 15th March 2020.Update as at 20th March, 6:06pm.

“The team continue to carry out recovery and salvage operations at the incident site. An additional body was retrieved today bringing the total number of fatalities to 22.
“468 people were displaced from their homes and 100 of them are now in the relief camp.
“One missing. Our help desk remains manned and our personnel are available to manage enquiries and arrange transfer to the LASEMA relief camp for those who have need of shelter and food.
“We appeal for calm and urge members of the public to keep away from the scene.”
Other rescue team, includes: National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, both Federal and State Fire Services, Nigerian Police, the military, the Red Cross, Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, LNSC, Special Taskforce, among others.
