Sadly, while legit businesses are taking place, criminals also use this place as a hustling ground.
News of people buying very ‘hot fufu’ instead of the iPhone they paid for is no longer new.
Some people pay for an iPhone only to be given an Android phone.
A Good Deal
This was the case of a man who stormed Ikeja to swap his old iPhone for a new one.
If only he had known, he would have managed the old one.
But no, he needed an upgrade.
He wanted to swap his iPhone 11 for an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
With smiles on his face, he approached a vendor on the streets of computer village who gave him a “good” deal.
These criminals do not operate alone, it is a carefully planned operation.
While, they were discussing. A group of touts approached, and asked why they were doing business on their territory, without settling them.
They demanded for settlement, which they got.
The Distraction
In the heat of this controversy the phone vendor asked him to hurriedly log out of his iCloud, so that they could conclude the deal ASAP before more “touts” will gather them.
Out of excitement and pressure, the victim paid, logged out of his iCloud, and swapped the phones.

He was advised to hide the phone and walk away fast. So that “other touts” will not disturb him.
The victim did as instructed.
It was when he completely got out of the market and decided to check out his new phone, that he found out that it was an Android replica.
The thoughts of losing his original iPhone and money, drove him wild.
One cannot help but imagine the pain and trauma the victim must be going through.
