King Charles III is set to sack about 100 employees of the Clarence House, in the city of Westminster, London.
The employees who have worked at the royal residence for decades were served a formal notice that they could lose their jobs following the ascension of King Charles III to the throne.
Clarence House, located next to St James’s Palace in central London, is the official London residence of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. King Charles’s and Camilla’s offices will move to Buckingham Palace after the death of the Queen, and staff were expected to be transferred.
The news came as a shock to most of the employees who expected that they were going to be transfered to Buckingham Palace
Some people in the crowd outside Buckingham Palace on Monday night were shocked at the Guardian’s revelations about the handling of redundancies at Clarence House.
Clarence House employees are not believed to have a recognised union available to them.
Meanwhile, the news has started generating reactions from the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) among other concerned quarters reacting.
