Pop superstar Katy Perry has officially released her sixth studio album, titled 143, on Friday, September 20. This album, which symbolizes “I love you” through its title, is Perry’s first since her 2020 release, Smile, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
143 includes previously released singles “Woman’s World” and “Lifetimes,” alongside collaborations with Doechii and 21 Savage on tracks “I’m His He’s Mine” and “Gimme Gimme,” respectively.
The album also features titles such as “Crush,” “Nirvana,” “All the Love,” “Truth,” and “Wonder.”
In a statement about the project, Perry expressed her aim to create a “bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album” centered around the theme of love.
On TikTok, she described 143 as “honestly a dance party” that welcomes all fandoms, highlighting its high energy, love-filled beats, and summer vibes.
Adding to the excitement, Katy made a triumphant return to the MTV stage for the first time since 2017.
During the 2024 Video Music Awards, she accepted the prestigious Video Vanguard Award and delivered a captivating medley of her biggest hits, which included the debut television performances of two singles from 143—“I’M HIS, HE’S MINE,” featuring Doechii, and “LIFETIMES.”
