Kanye West’s listening party event in South Korea has been canceled due to “recent controversy” surrounding the artiste. The cancellation was announced by South Korean e-commerce company Coupang and ticket vendor Interpark, who cited the controversy as the reason for the event’s termination.

The event, titled “YE Korea Concert,” was scheduled to take place on May 31. In a statement, Coupang explained that the decision to cancel the concert was made due to the recent controversy surrounding Kanye West.

Coupang stated, “We would like to inform you that the ‘YE Korea Concert’ scheduled for Saturday, May 31st has been inevitably canceled due to the recent controversy surrounding singer Kanye West.”

The company also announced that sales of Yeezy brand merchandise would be discontinued.

This news comes after Kanye West faced backlash for his latest single, which sparked outrage due to its lyrics celebrating notorious Nazi Germany dictator and war criminal Adolf Hitler.

In response to the leak, Kanye West took to social media, seemingly referencing the cancellation of his concert and the leak of his album.

He wrote, “Somebody got a drive and threw it on YouTube and said this is CUCK. What I love about getting blocked on digital service providers and having songs leaked and shows canceled is… It proves everything I’m saying and why I’m saying.”
