A tanker explosion has been averted as gridlock takes over Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday.

iBrandTV gathered that a tanker loaded with 33, 000 litre of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol had a brake failure and ran over six trucks along the road.

The development has cause serious traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as motorist are currently looking for alternative route.

Several vehicles carrying foodstuff, perishable goods, along with ambulance, are on standstill as the situation seems challenging for Fire service officials to contain.

The traffic is visible starting form Secretariat bustop along the expressway down to Kara bridge.

Although, security operative are currently on ground as they barricaded the road to avert explosion as a result of the petrol spillage.
