Nigeria’s Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele-Bello, has on Monday, arrived the Ogba Magistrate Court, in Lagos for trial over contravening the lockdown directive in by President Muhamadu Buhari.

iBrandTV had reported that, the producer of the popular Jenifer Diary, Akindele-Bello, was engaged by the government and private companies to sensitise the public on social distancing policies aimed at curtailing the spread of the Corona Virus pandemic, was seen in a video that went viral, celebrating her husband’s birthday in the midst of other artists and youths.

She has also taken to her Instagram page to apologise to Nigerians for her indiscretion at allowing the video clip to get to the social media.

However, Akindele-Bello, explained that attendees at the birthday bash were crew members of an ongoing project.

She also said that they had been at the studio in her estate, before lockdown directive by the President.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the party included; Naira Marley, Rasheed Gbadamosi, a former Lagos State governorship aspirant, among others.

The Federal Government last week ordered a total lockdown for residents of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun States to curb the spread of COVID-19.
