Journalist not exempted from curfew only lockdown - PoliceThe Nigerian Police Headquarters has on Tuesday stated that Journalists along with essential workers are only exempted from the lockdown but not the curfew which commences by 8pm to 6am.

The curfew is in line with the Federal Government directives to combat the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.

It would be recalled that going by Federal government directives, essential workers are supposed to close by 8pm.

But Journalists due to the peculiarities of their jobs, stay as late as 10pm in most cases.

According to the Police headquarters, “Journalists are covered under the lockdown rules which ends by 8 pm daily.

“Anything after 8 pm, is against the law and those found wanting would be apprehended.”
