JAY-Z and D’Angelo are joining forces for an upcoming nearly 10-minute ‘The Book of Clarence’ soundtrack, as revealed by director Jeymes Samuel, also known as The Bullitts.
This collaboration marks the first time these legendary artists have worked together, and Samuel described the song as “9 minutes, 33 seconds of absolute soulful biblical bliss”.
Notably, JAY-Z had previously acknowledged D’Angelo in his 2003 track “Lucifer” by rapping, “Pumping ‘Brown Sugar’ by D’Angelo/ In Los Angeles, like an evangelist.”
The highly anticipated soundtrack for The Book of Clarence will feature this groundbreaking collaboration and include other big names such as Lil Wayne, Buju Banton, and Shabba Ranks collaborating on the lead single, “Hallelujah Heaven”.
This single promises to be a unique blend of gospel, rap, and dancehall.
Moreover, Kid Cudi is expected to make a contribution to the album.
The movie itself, The Book of Clarence, is scheduled to hit theatres on Friday, January 12, 2024.
