Global police agency (Interpol) has issued a red notice for the daughter of Angola’s former president, Isabel dos Santos.
The red notice allows her to be located and arrested by law enforcement agencies, globally.
She has on multiple occasions been faced with corruption accusations for years including being accused of steering $1 billion in state funds to companies in which she and her husband held stakes.
Interpol was said to have issued an international arrest warrant but the Interpol told Reuters that it has instead issued a red notice at the request of the Angolan government.

Interpol had explained that a red notice was “not an international arrest warrant” but it was a “request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action”.
Isabel dos Santos is wanted for various crimes including alleged embezzlement, money laundering, and influence peddling.
She was once Africa’s richest woman, however, Forbes removed her from the billionaire ranks in January 2021 following asset freezes.
