American singer, R. Kelly has said that he’ll continue to prove his innocence and fight for his freedom after being found guilty by the jury.

Recall that n Monday, about 12 jury found the singer guilty of all nine counts, including racketeering on their second day of deliberations.

During the verdict, the singer remained still with his eyes downcast as the verdict was read in a U.S Federal court in Brooklyn, New York.

The prosecutors also alleged that the entourage of managers and aides who helped R. Kelly meet girls and keep them obedient and quiet amounted to a criminal enterprise.

The R&B legend also faces the possibility of decades in prison for crimes, including violating the Mann Act, an anti-s£x trafficking law that prohibits taking anyone across state lines “for any immoral purpose”. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4, 2022. According to reports.

R. Kelly however took to his social media page after the verdict to assure his fans that he will prove his innocence and regain his freedom.

 

He wrote:

“To all my fans and supporters I love you all and thank you for all the support. Today’s verdict was disappointing and I will continue to prove my innocence and fight for my freedom. ✊🏾❤️#notguilty”
