A close source has debunked reports that popular Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus was arrested in connection with the death of of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the son of popular singer, Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland.
Recall that the media space was filled with massive reactions following reports that Eniola Badmus was arrested by the police after the late child’s nanny, who is in custody, reportedly claimed that it was Eniola who distracted her from keeping watch on the boy before he strayed into the swimming pool and drowned on October 31st, 2022.
Speaking to Sunday Scoop, the source, who is close to the actress said that Badmus was not arrested by the police.
According to the source, the popular thespian does not have any relationship with the nanny in question.
The source said, “Eniola was not arrested by the police. She is in her house and the police have also confirmed that she was not arrested. As I speak with you, she is in her house, eating.
“She does not even know Ifeanyi’s nanny, talk more of calling her. People can say whatever they like. This is a grieving period for Davido, and the issue is a sad one.”
Speaking earlier, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, had confirmed that Badmus was not arrested.
He said, “The story (on Badmus arrest) is false; nothing like that happened. The two suspects are still with us. The autopsy has been concluded. The autopsy confirmed that he (Ifeanyi) died by drowning.”
