During a Q&A session with the cast of ‘Emilia Pérez’ at the Telluride Film Festival on September 1, 2024.
Selena Gomez explained, “I paused everything else, including my music, to concentrate fully on this musical.
“Every day, I would wake up and rehearse my lines repeatedly. I even called my Spanish teacher in the middle of the night.”
In the film, the 32-year-old star portrays Jessi Del Monte.
Selena Gomez also mentioned that singing in the movie was a “therapeutic” experience for her.

Netflix dropped the first trailer for the Spanish-language French film on August 26, which also features Zoe Saldaña.
The movie is described as “an audacious fever dream that defies genres and expectations”.
