The protest named #EndBadGovernance, is set for August 1-10 across all states and the Federal Capital Territory. The protest is due to economic hardship.

The forum claims the protest aims to destabilise Nigeria, especially the north and Abuja, by damaging government infrastructure like schools and railways.

Afiyo emphasised that while protests are legal, their timing, method, and necessity should be evaluated before proceeding.

He added that they have received intelligence indicating dangerous plans and strategies behind the protests, leading to their decision to withdraw.

NYLF intended to mobilise northern youth but decided against participation after reviewing intelligence reports and briefings.

They suspect that only a minority of protest promoters are aware of the plans, with some collaborating with foreign entities against Nigeria.

The forum urges the Federal Government and security agencies to limit gatherings to 10 people, except for religious events, with strict checks.

The Northern youth will hold the government and security agencies accountable, viewing them as potential collaborators in undermining the nation’s future, the group said.
