The family of the late gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi, widely recognised by her stage name Aduke Gold, has finally addressed the speculations surrounding her sudden passing.
Aduke Gold tragically passed away at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Her untimely death sent shockwaves through the gospel music community and her fanbase.
Also it sparked a wave of grief and condolences on social media.
In the immediate aftermath of her death, a rumor began circulating online.
The rumor suggested that the singer had died while undergoing a fibroid surgery.
In response to the widespread speculation, Aduke Gold’s brother, Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, stepped forward to clarify the true cause of her death.
In a heartfelt video that has since gone viral on social media, Pastor Ajayi expressed his dismay over the false reports.
Also, he urges the public to refrain from spreading unverified information.
Pastor Ajayi stated: “It’s disheartening to see people spread false information during such a difficult time.
Our beloved Aduke was battling cervical cancer. She was receiving treatment at UCH in Ibadan, but despite the efforts of the medical team, she sadly passed away.
The circulating reports claiming she died during fibroid surgery are completely untrue.”
The pastor emphasised the importance of respecting the memory of the deceased and the grief of the family by ensuring that information shared is accurate.

He also showed that the death certificate from the hospital clearly indicates that cervical cancer was the cause of her death.
