Ayra Starr has made history as the first Nigerian female artiste to surpass one billion total views on YouTube.
This milestone places her alongside top Nigerian musicians such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Omah Lay, who have also achieved this feat.
Much of Ayra Starr’s success comes from her breakout single “Rush,” which has accumulated over 450 million views.
Released in September 2022, the song became the most-viewed Afrobeats video by a Nigerian female artiste and earned her a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
“Rush” also made its debut on the UK Official Top 100 chart and received platinum certification in the UK.
Since her debut in 2021, Ayra Starr has continued to break barriers in the music industry.
In 2025, she released “Gimme Dat,” a collaboration with Wizkid that samples classic tracks by Wyclef Jean, further cementing her place as a leading figure in the global Afrobeats scene.
