The Accident Investigation Bureau has revealed that the Bell 206-B3 helicopter that crashed on Salvation Road, Opebi, in the Ikeja area of Lagos State, yesterday had no black box.

It, however, noted that investigation has since commenced without the black box.

The AIB is the body in charge of all aviation-related accidents and incidents in Nigeria, and often r;IES on audio recordings on black boxes to determine what may have transpired before impact, and help improve upon future flights.

IBrandTV earlier reported that a helicopter had crashed into a building on Salvation road, Opebi in Lagos, leaving two dead and one injured. The injured survivor died later in the hospital

Among the confirmed dead persons was the pilot, Capt Chika, who had emptied the fuel tank moments before impact to reduce damage.

“We want the public to know that we would be amenable to receiving any video clip, relevant evidence, or information any members of the public may have of the accident; that can assist us with this investigation,” the Bureau said.
