Heathrow Airport is set to resume a limited number of flights.
This follows severe disruptions caused by a fire at a nearby electrical substation.
The incident, which resulted in a significant power outage, led to the cancellation of over 1,000 flights and impacted approximately 200,000 passengers.
Counter-terrorism police are among the agencies investigating the cause of the blaze.
Meanwhile, the National Grid has implemented an interim solution to restore power to the affected areas, including the airport.
A Heathrow spokesperson confirmed that some flights would resume later today.
They also priorities repatriation services and relocating aircraft.
Efforts are underway to assist passengers diverted to other European airports.
Further Updates
Meanwhile, the airport aims to operate at full capacity by tomorrow, with further updates expected soon.
British Airways has announced that eight long-haul flights will depart from 7pm, with affected customers being contacted directly.
Only passengers booked on specific flights, including routes to Johannesburg, Singapore, Riyadh, Cape Town, Sydney, and Buenos Aires via Rio de Janeiro, should proceed to the airport.
