The organisers of the Headies award have announced Spoken Word Challenge. To participate, individuals are invited to create a captivating spoken word piece centered around the theme of the 17th Headies: ‘BACK TO BASE’.
The prize for the best entry includes a feature on HipTV and a live performance at the 17th Headies award ceremony, scheduled to take place at the Eko Hotel Convention Center on April 5th, 2025.
To enter, participants must upload their spoken word piece on social media, tagging the Headies official page on all platforms (including Instagram: @the_headies) and using the hashtag #17thHeadiesspokenword.
In related news, the Headies voting portal is still open, allowing fans to cast their votes for their favorite artistes. The voting period, which began on February 25, will run until April 2, 2025.
This year’s ceremony boasts an impressive 31 nominations across 22 voting categories and 9 non-voting categories.
Only nomination, music materials, including singles, videos, EPs, and albums, released and distributed on digital streaming platforms or physical music media between April 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024 were considered for nominations.
Fans can log onto the Headies website, click on “vote,” and cast their votes for their preferred artistes.
