During the event, the governor announced that he was proud of the musicians that performed at the occasion and vowed to give each of them a sum of N10M.
The news of these lavish gifts did not go down well with many Nigerians as they accused the governor of owing salaries and more.
Despite the outcry by Nigerians, the Rivers state government has gone ahead to fulfil its promise. In a press release by the state, it was revealed that the artistes who performed at Burna Boy’s event have now received their money as promised.
The statement which was signed by the commissioner for culture and tourism, Mrs Tonye Briggs, described the state governor, Nyesom Wike, as a man of his words for redeeming his pledge.
