Mo Abudu, an acclaimed media mogul and producer, has also played a pivotal role in elevating African cinema with projects like The Wedding Party, The Wedding Party 2, House of Gaa, and Oloture, among others.
Both women took to social media to express their joy and gratitude for the international recognition.
Funke Akindele shared: “I’m deeply honoured and truly grateful to be featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Most Influential Women in International Film.’
“To be recognized among 46 powerful, visionary women from around the world is more than a moment of celebration—it’s a call to keep building, creating boldly, and lifting others as we rise.”
Mo Abudu, who appears on the list for the fourth consecutive year, also reflected on the moment:
“I am truly honoured to be named, for the fourth consecutive year, as one of the Most Influential Women in International Film by The Hollywood Reporter especially as the list is unveiled annually during the Cannes Film Festival.
