Five killed as bomb explosion rocks Katsina

No fewer than five children, all of same parents, have been confirmed dead as bomb explosion rocked a farmland in Yammawa village, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

iBrandTV gathered that Doctors at the Malumfashi General Hospital were still battling to save the lives of six other children who sustained varying degrees of injuries from the blast.

The children as gathered, went to cut grasses for animals feed in the farm owned by Alhaji Hussaini Mai Kwai, when the unexpected happened, about 11.30am.

As at time of writing this report, no arrest had been made, neither was the combustive substance used to blow up the farm disclosed.

Spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command , SP Gambo Isah, said detectives from the Explosive Ordinance Department , EOD and the Criminal Investigation Department had begun investigation into the blast.

He explained that “Today, the DPO Malumfashi , reported that a loud sound was heard inside the farm of one Alhaji Hussaini Mai Kwai. On receipt of the information, the DPO, led operatives of Operation Puff Adder to the scene where there was a suspected case of Bomb explosion which killed five children of one person , by name Alhaji Adamu.

“The scene has been preserved. investigation is ongoing”.
