Fireboy has released the tracklist for his upcoming fourth album, “Adedamola,” set to drop on August 29, 2024.
The album will feature collaborations with notable Nigerian artistes, including Lagbaja, Grammy-nominated Afrobeat star Seun Kuti, Afrobeats hitmaker Lojay, and Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter Jon Batiste.
The 14-track project will also include a collaboration with Nigerian superstar disc jockey, musician, and producer Spinall.
Fans are particularly excited about the involvement of Lagbaja, who has not released new music in over two decades.
The masked legend, whose music significantly shaped the late 1990s and early 2000s, has maintained a low profile, with his last public performance taking place at the 2022 AMVCA.
Fireboy’s collaboration with Grammy Album of the Year winner Jon Batiste and the critically acclaimed Seun Kuti suggests that he may be aiming for a nomination in the Global categories, with the album’s release strategically scheduled just before the August 31 Grammy deadline.
“Adedamola” follows Fireboy’s third album, “Playboy,” released two years ago, which featured hit singles like “Bandana” with Asake and “Playboy.”
The album’s title, derived from Fireboy’s first name, indicates a move toward more personal and sentimental themes, contrasting with the hedonistic exploration of his previous work.
