Umoren went missing on Thursday. She had earlier tweeted via her Twitter handle, @HinyHumoren, that she had recently graduated and needed a job.

Her friend, @UmohUduak1, raised the alarm later that day, saying she got a distress call from Umoren whose phone was unreachable after.

But in a statement on Sunday titled, ‘Update On The Disappearance Of Miss Iniobong Ephraim Umoren’, the Akwa Ibom police said that Akpan kidnapped, sexually violated and subsequently buried the victim to cover up his atrocity.
