She praised the role of private airlines and competitive market forces in driving this growth, highlighting how increased investment and improved management have transformed the sector.
Private Sector Drives Growth
Kuku emphasised that the private sector played a crucial role in driving this growth by bringing new investment, improving management, and increasing competition that transformed the industry.
For example, airlines like Air Peace and Arik Air have led this change.

Challenges And Opportunities
However, Kuku acknowledged that the sector still faces challenges such as infrastructure gaps, regulatory complexities, and funding shortages.
Nevertheless, she urged stakeholders to view these issues as opportunities for further development.
Vision For The Future
In her words, “The future of Nigerian aviation lies with those who see beyond the sky as just a route, but as a gateway to economic growth.”
With continued private sector engagement and strategic investment, Nigeria’s aviation sector will expand its economic footprint and enhance connectivity, charting a promising course for the years ahead.
