Enzo Zidane, the eldest son of football legend Zinedine Zidane, has officially retired from professional football at the age of 29.
According to a report by Diario AS on Tuesday, September, 24, 2024, Enzo has stepped away from the sport to focus on personal matters, including family and business ventures.
Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news, stating, “Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo has retired from football at the age of 29…He last played for Fuenlabrada in the 3rd tier of Spanish football and he wants to focus on private matters, including his investments.”
Enzo’s decade-long career spanned 203 appearances, during which he scored 13 goals and provided 24 assists.
His journey included stints with several clubs, including Real Madrid Castilla, Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron, before concluding with Fuenlabrada, where he made 29 appearances.
His most notable achievement came during his sole appearance for Real Madrid’s senior team, where he scored on his debut in a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory against Cultural Leonesa.
While Enzo has chosen to retire, his brothers continue their careers in football.
Luca Zidane is currently Eibar’s starting goalkeeper, Theo Zidane plays midfield for Córdoba in Spain’s third division, and the youngest, Elyaz Zidane, has joined Real Betis’ academy and represents France at the U-17 level.
