IBrandTV gathered that this was inline with the Twitter founder move on backing  the nationwide #EndSARS protests.

Dorsey had expressed his support for the #EndSARS protests across the nation.

Garba filed a fundamental human rights suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The motion on notice was brought pursuant to order II Rules 1, 2, 3 of the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009 and Sections 34(1), 35(1) and 41(1) and 43 of the 1999 Constitution.

Others joined in the suit include the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation, the National Security Adviser, the Inspector General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigeria Communications Commission.

Garba is seeking an “order directing the 8th (Dorsey) and 9th (Twitter) respondents jointly to pay him the sum of $1bn as damages.”

It remains to be seen how Garba will serve Twitter with the court processes since the social network giant has no office in Nigeria.

The former Presidential candidate had last week lambasted Dorsey for showing support to the protesters.

Recall that Garba had, at two different times, threatened the American techpreneur with court summon on his app, saying he should stay of out Nigeria’s problem.

In the recent tweets he put out today, Adamu Garba noted that Jack#s meddling and gross abuse of privilege is putting people at risk  and at such, he must be prepared to pay fine and compensate for the damage you have caused the country, amongst other things.
