We are not surprised because what Nigerians envisioned was a protest that would carpet the #EndSARS protest of October 2020.

Of course, we all know how that protest turned out.

Till date, the effect of the #EndSARS protest is still felt.

In fact, many individuals who took part in that protest are still in custody.

Hence, when Nigerians said that the #EndSARSprotest was little compared to what they planned to do with the #EndBadGovernance protest, one does not need a soothsayer to know how things will play out.

However, what many Nigerians did not know was the fact that a total of 2,111 protesters were arrested across the country during the protests.

This was brought to public notice by human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN.

Falana disclosed that out of the 2,111 arrested protesters, 1,403 were brought before various courts and subsequently placed in prison custody.

He criticised the authorities for denying the protesters access to legal representation, which resulted in their detention.

Falana stated: “Out of the 2,111 arrested suspects, 1,403 have been arraigned in various courts.

Painfully, the suspects were ordered to be remanded in prison custody due to a lack of legal representation.”
