A video showing President Bola Tinubu addressing Nigerians has sparked confusion among the presidential aides.

This highly controversial video was posted on the verified X (formerly Twitter) handle of President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday.

In the viral video, the President acknowledged the hardship Nigerians are going through as a result of fuel subsidy removal.

Indeed, the President’s address resonated with the current situation in the country.

Also, since this is the first time Nigerians are seeing this video, many felt the address was another appeal to end the ongoing protest against bad governance and hardship in the country.

However, to the greatest surprise of many, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the trending video is not new.

Onanuga told Nigerians that the video in circulation is from the broadcast President Tinubu made last year.

According to him, the Nigerian leader has not made any other public statement since his last broadcast on Sunday.

Despite the claim of Onanuga, several presidential aides have reposted the address which was shared on the official account of the president, leaving Nigerians more confused.
