The #EndBadGovernance protest kicked off on the August 1, 2024 three days after the Big Brother Naija (BBNAIJA) show began on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
The theme of the ninth season of the popular reality TV show, which is designed to keep viewers engaged and on the edge of their seats for the next ten weeks, is “No Loose Guard.”.
However, it is no news that the eyes of many Nigerians are on the nationwide protests.
Unlike before, when the Big Brother Naija show used to be the talk of the nation whenever it began to air, it appears to be a different story now.
The average Nigerian isn’t privileged to conveniently watch the show as there is a hike in electricity tariff, fuel is scarce and has increased in price, and inflation keeps hitting the market daily amidst other national issues facing Nigerians.
For BBNAIJA, it may not be business as usual as the masses are busy fighting for survival on the streets.
Netizens voiced their reactions about the timing of the BBN show in line with the protest.
