The Central Bank of Nigeria is planning to introduce the Unstructured Supplementary otherwise known as USSD code as part of steps to improve the Central Bank Digital Currency.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Governor of the CBN, Kingsley Obiora, at the IMF African Department Speakers Series held virtually on Friday.

According to him, the USSD code was introduced to increase financial inclusion in the country and to ensure that those without cellphones could still interact on the eNaira platform.
