To alleviate the impact of the ongoing economic challenges on workers, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has approved a work-from-home policy for civil servants.
This good news was brought to public notice by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode.
According to Oyebode, the new policy stipulates that civil servants in grades 01-07 can work from home for three days per week.
However, workers in grades 08-12 will work remotely two days a week.
For employees in grades 13-17, they can work from home once a week.
This policy is set to take effect on Monday, September 9, 2024.
However, it will not apply to essential personnel, including teachers, critical healthcare workers, and security staff, among others.
As per the governor’s instructions, each Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) must develop a feasible schedule for its staff.
The aim is to ensure that this work-from-home policy does not compromise the quality of service delivery.

The arrangement will remain in effect for two months and will be reviewed periodically based on the current situation.
Furthermore, this policy does not interfere with other support measures established by the state government, such as the monthly wage awards for employees and pensioners, as well as the provision of accessible transportation for workers and students.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare of the state’s workforce and will persist in executing necessary strategies to boost its productivity.
